The International Institute for Culture (IIC) offers a Spanish Language and Culture Immersion Program designed for Catholic priests, seminarians, and religious aiming to serve Spanish-speaking populations in the United States. With the rapid growth of Hispanic and Latino communities, this program equips participants with the essential language skills and cultural understanding necessary for effective ministry and evangelization. The program is an ideal environment for immersive learning while deepening participants’ appreciation for the cultural and spiritual traditions of Latin America.

The program combines rigorous academic instruction with cultural and spiritual enrichment. Participants engage in intensive Spanish classes five days a week, tailored to various proficiency levels, ensuring a small student-to-teacher ratio. Alongside language study, the curriculum includes weekly lectures on Latin American history and culture from a Catholic perspective. Cultural immersion is further enhanced through home-stay options with trusted families, opportunities to attend daily Mass and pray the Liturgy of the Hours in Spanish.

A key highlight of the program is its holistic approach, integrating spiritual formation into the daily schedule. Participants have access to a private chapel on campus for personal prayer, daily rosary, and communal devotions. Beyond the classroom, cultural tours provide a rich context for understanding the deep faith and cultural traditions. Additionally, service projects foster meaningful interactions with local communities, enriching participants’ pastoral preparation.
