THE CHALLENGE
Vocations to the priesthood and religious life are essential for the survival of the Church. God has called men to serve Him since creation, but fewer and fewer are answering that call. Yet men instinctively want to be part of something bigger than themselves—to protect, serve, sacrifice, commit, live meaningful lives, build, and love. We want to take that instinct, nurture it, guide it, form it, and channel it for the Kingdom of God.
Over the past year and a half, we interviewed many organizations already working in religious vocations and identified gaps and needs. We then surveyed diocesan and religious order Vocation Directors and generated a report of those findings. Additionally, we surveyed Americans on their views and opinions regarding the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, and the priesthood. Drawing on our findings, we developed a comprehensive program to help address the decline of vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
THE VISION
A world where the vocation of Catholic priest is seen once again as desirable and welcome, sacrificial yet joy-filled, challenging yet fulfilling, strong, resolute, and heroic. Our intention is to grow disciples (priests) who will raise disciples (laity) who will influence the world by dedicating their lives to the restoration of the Kingdom of God.
