DESCRIPTION

"Common Good" is a central architectonic notion in St. Thomas's account of the communion of persons in the various forms of community, e.g., the family, the state, the church and the heavenly Jerusalem. "Gift of self" plays a similarly architectonic role in John Paul II. The purpose of the book is to bring these two accounts together, to explore their similarities, their differences and their complementarity.
