Piano Recital of Dramatic Works
Sunday, May 16, 2027 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Pianist Rollin Wilber gives a solo piano recital of dramatic and sumptuous works, offering a large range of classics.
A richly elegantsonata by Beethoven (this being the 200th anniversary of his death); Debussy’s free-flowing, first major piano work, Suite Bergamasque, which bore Clair de Lune into the world); Spanish composer Granados’ exquisite Maid and the Nightingale; the extreme Russian pathos of Tchaikovsky’s Dumka Concertpiece; the intense musical drama of the searing “Dante Sonata” by Franz Liszt.
A special highlight is the premiere of Wilber’s own transcription for solo piano of Maurice Ravel’s most beautiful 2nd movement from his Piano Concerto in G major.
