Morning Seminar on Catholic Sexual Teaching

“For thou didst form my inward parts, thou didst knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise thee, for thou art fearful and wonderful. Wonderful are thy works! Thou knowest me right well”   Psalm 139:13–14, RSV

What does it mean to be made in the image of God? What does the Church really teach about the body, sexuality, fertility, and human dignity? And how can Catholics explain these teachings with both clarity and charity?

In a time of confusion about the human person, sexuality, marriage, fertility, gender, and the meaning of the body, Catholics need clear, faithful, and reasonable teaching rooted in Scripture, natural law, and the moral tradition of the Church.

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made is a morning seminar exploring Catholic sexual teaching which is often viewed as being arbitrary and unreasonable. This seminar will present Church teaching on sexuality as eminently reasonable and liberating. The Church’s teaching on sexuality is not about “sex” but rather about the very nature of the human person created in the image of God.  

Presented By Dr. John Haas

The seminar will be presented by John M. Haas, Ph.D., S.T.L., M.Div., a nationally recognized Catholic moral theologian and bioethicist. Dr. Haas is the founder and president of the International Institute for Culture and the John Cardinal Krol Professor of Moral Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He has served the Church through his work as President of The National Catholic Bioethics Center, as well as a member of the Pro-Life Committee and the Health Care Subcommittee of the Doctrine Committee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the Holy See, including appointments to the Pontifical Academy for Life and the Pontifical Council for Pastoral Care to Healthcare Workers by Pope Benedict XIV.

This seminar will offer thoughtful, cogent, and faithful instruction on some of the most important and difficult moral questions facing Catholics today.
