___________________ Pianist Rollin Wilber is an active recitalist in the Philadelphia region, with extensive background in chamber music and accompanying. Founder of the music presenting and performing group, FINE ART MUSIC, created in 2010, he has worked with other musicians in developing a seasonal series of intimate, thematic programs at historic Ivy Hall, on Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia, as well as at the Ethical Society Building in center-city Philadelphia. These salon-style concerts along with other performance seminars he has developed emphasize the deepening of audience involvement and musical understanding in performance. He is now in his tenth year as the performing pianist for the Philadelphia Ethical Society. He was raised in the New York area, within an extended family of professional musicians (father, 1st French Horn with the NY Philharmonic; mother, 1st French Horn with the New York City Ballet Orchestra). He began piano studies at age eight with his grandmother (a rare female concert violinist in the early 1900’s), continued with five years of study with Vera Tisheff in the NYC area; and began performing publicly at the age of 16. He graduated from high school one year early to study with Temple University’s Maryan Filar, internationally-acclaimed pianist and Chopin interpreter, with whom he remained for more than ten years.
