SUNDAY AFTERNOON BRIDAL SHOWER: VOCATION TALK

TIME:
July 10, 2022 1:30 PM
EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Dear friends of IIC and Ivy Hall, Many of you may know that I have been blessed with 36 grandchildren, 25 of whom are girls! As I reflected on this treasure from God, I realized how infrequently girls and young women today come in contact with religious sisters. This summer, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is blessed to have 18 women religious, representing three different orders, taking courses at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. I have invited them to Ivy Hall on Sunday, July 10th at 1:30 to provide some inspired music in our ballroom and to tell us about their own religious orders. Clearly, I am inviting all my granddaughters to this event which is open to the public. I hope that all homeschoolers, and private and parochial Catholic schools and academies will extend this invitation to their students to give them the opportunity to see how God can touch the lives of courageous and selfless women to give themselves sacrificially to the Church and to those in need. We are calling this event “A Sunday Afternoon Bridal Shower” since these women have been chosen to be Brides of Christ. The communities represented will be:
- Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia (based in Nashville) Often referred to simply as "The Nashville Dominicans"
- Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist (based in Ann Arbor, Michigan)
- Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Wichita (based in Wichita, KS)
Please spread the word far and wide. God may already have specific vocations in mind; all that is needed is the opportunity for those young women to learn of it. Please RSVP today. Sincerely, Dr John Haas President International Institute of Culture |
