Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Lobkowicz, former Chair of Political Philosophy and President of the University of Munich, papal appointee to the Pontifical Council for Culture, former President of the German Writers' Guild, former President of the Catholic University of Eichstaett, President of the European University Rectors' Council, and founder of the Center for Central and East European Studies at the University of Eichstaett.
 
Prof. Dr. Karl Ballestrem - "It is with profound sorrow that we announce that Prof. Ballestrem died suddenly and unexpectedly on May 9 while lecturing at the University of Eichstaett. He was a true Catholic gentleman, noble by birth and virtue. He will be sorely missed. May his soul rest in peace."
 
Prof. Dr. Hannah-Barbara Gerl Falkovitz, Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Dresden, widely published expert on Romano Guardini and Edith Stein.
 
Prof. Dr. Michael Waldstein, Ph.D. in Scriptural Studies at Harvard University, Professor of Scripture at the University of Dallas, founder and former President of the International Theological Institute in Gaming, Austria
 
Prof. Dr. Jacques Cabaud received his MA in Philosophy from Fordham University studying with Dietrich von Hildebrand and his Ph.D. in French literature from Columbia University writing on the work of Simone Weil. He taught at both St. John's University and New York University. He is currently a professor at the Siewerth Akademie in Oberbierbronnen in the Black Forest.
 
Prof. Dr. Leo Rudnitzky, former President of the Ukrainian Free University in Munich, Professor of German and Slavic Literatures at LaSalle University and founder of their Eastern European Studies Program.
 
The Rev. Prof. Dr. Matthew Lamb, Chairman of the Graduate Program in Theology at Ave Maria University. He formerly taught theology at Boston College and Marquette University. He studied in Rome and has his doctorate from the University of Münster. For fifteen years Father Lamb was a contemplative Trappist monk and plans to return to the monastery upon retirement.
 
The Rev. Prof. Dr. Hans-Dieter Mustchler holds an endowed chair in the Philosophy of Nature and Technology at the Ignatian University in Cracow. He writes extensively on the relationship between science and religion.
 
Prof. Dr. John M. Haas is the President of the International Institute for Culture and The National Catholic Bioethics Center. He is a former professor at the Pontifical College Josephinum, adjunct professor at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies in Marriage and the Family and the John Cardinal Krol Professor of Moral Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia.
 

 
EXCURSIONS:
 
Lectures are offered every morning with the afternoons free for relaxing, reading, discussions and excursions. There is a beautiful modern swimming pool under the shadow of St. Walburga's monastery. There will also be cultural excursions. The first day will include a walking tour of beautiful Eichstätt, once ruled by Prince Bishops. There will also be a tour of St. Walburga's and attendance at services as the fifty nuns sing Vespers from behind the cloister screen. Our first Sunday in Bavaria, there will be a walking tour of old Munich after a choral mass in the magnificent Baroque Jesuit Church of St. Michael. One evening in Eichstätt, participants can attend the local folk dance club as the towns people dress in traditional dress and slap and stomp their way through folk dances. There will also be an excursion to Josef Ratzinger's birthplace, Marktl am Inn, and a visit to the nearby pilgrims' shrine of Altöting. And finally there will be a quiet cruise down the Danube River to the Benedictine Abbey of Weltenburg, with the oldest monastery brewery in the world. At the Abbey there will be an opportunity for hiking and enjoying a repast with the monastic brew in the beer garden.
 
COSTS:
 
The cost of the program is $2,500 and covers 14 days of accommodations, including three meals a day, the excursions and lectures. Private bus transportation from the Munich International Airport to Eichstätt will be provided for only $15/person for whoever arrives on Sunday, June 17 before 2:00 p.m.
