LENTEN REFLECTIONS SERIES: THE RAISING OF LAZARUS

TIME:

January 31, 2020    7:00 PM

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Lenten Reflections by Msgr. Michael Magee of St. Charles Seminary

We are all encouraged to deny ourselves during the Lenten season in imitation of Our Lord’s sacrifices for us and to discipline ourselves spiritually. Just as important, however, is taking on practices that will deepen our Faith and bring us closer to Our Lord. We are pleased to announce a special lecture series at Ivy Hall during Lent to do just that.

St. John the Evangelist was beloved of Our Lord. By reflecting on four episodes recorded in his Gospel, it is hoped that the Beloved Disciple can help us come to know and love Our Lord more deeply during this Lent.

Msgr. Michael Magee, STD, SSL, MA, MDiv, is the Chairman of the Systematic Theology Department and Full Professor of Systematic Theology and Sacred Scripture at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He is a truly brilliant scholar and an outstanding lecturer, and we are very privileged and fortunate to have him help deepen our Lenten spiritual journey through his lectures at Ivy Hall. Msgr. Magee will be offering four presentations on the Gospel of St. John and profound spiritual insights can be gained by reflecting on each episode:

Tuesday, March 10: The Samaritan Woman

Tuesday, March 17: The Man Born Blind

Tuesday, March 31: The Raising of Lazarus

Tuesday, April 7: The Passion Account

There will be a reception and light refreshments following the lectures.
